 Volcano Settlements in New Zealand
Generally, different zones offer distinctly different aspects for interested groups to experience.

Volcanoes are common in New Zealand.  We find settlements around harbour volcanoes and others enjoying the rich soils they produce. Maori used them for observation posts to pre warn them of enemy attack against  today's tourists.  In the Active Volcano Zone tourism has developed because of the sights and the extensive geothermal activity.
