We pass through the Kawarau Gorge one of new Zealand's most spectacular. It has been developing for a sort time only and enable us to view the erosion processes at their most active.  Giant slow moving slips are changing the gorge wall as the river carves deeper.

We explore the huge erosive forces of one of New Zealand's the large fast flowing rivers as it cuts through a large mountain range.  We witness the various stages of the river's history through the eroded material and deposits that lie within the narrow valley. Our general gorge study encompasses a number of other deep gorges.
