River Studies

Wide swift rivers break our travel across lush irrigated farm plains.

We gain good views of these when crossing the long bridges. There are many places to stop, rest and explore the fast flowing water sweeping over the plains from the distant mountains.

Studies:
We explore the processes of new land formation. Rivers in this zone are largely depositing millions of tonnes of material monthly on to the plains and the sea coast. We investigate the threats they cause to settlements and farmlands then look at systems in place to counter this process.

Beneath these rivers we come aware of more subterranean rivers and we investigate the evidence these revel.

We can view and explore extensive irrigation systems that use these essential waterways to cultivate lands that were once deserts.
