Here you can visit a harbour that is entirely man made because there were no suitable coastal features available.

Born out of necessity this harbour began and slowly grew over a centaury.  The goods were there to export.  The problem was the storms that smashed many visiting ships. It has ended now with easy fast access for ships and goods.

The community built a protection wall and that grew and developed at the same time the coast's natural processes were altered and have been changing the shape of the coastline (to the commercial and recreational advantage ever since.

We follow the development of the building, learn to understand the natural processes of coastal drifting and look at the administration of the business (harbour management & shipping), their successes and failures.
