We travel through several of these large "U" shaped valleys, some being narrow steep and intimidating others are wide and grand.  Dense rainforests, rock walls, screes, slips, fans and earthquake remnants feature on the towering walls . Every corner presents us with something new to see.

Studies  We see examples of the two differently formed valleys. Some began being shaped by glaciation then changed to river shaping.   Here to the geology is soft and the cold erosion forces strong.

We begin recognise and understand glacier carved valleys compared with river carved valleys

Interested groups closely examine and learn about the processes that form screes, fans and rock rivers.
