Christchurch is a tiny dot on the New Zealand map the earthquakes have damaged only one third of that dot.

New Zealand is still open and safe - Only the CBD and the Eastern Suburbs of Christchurch  sustained the main damage. The rest of Christchurch and is perfectly safe is operating normally.
