Canterbury Plains

 

These are New Zealand's largest flat lands spreading over 200 km along the South Island's Pacific coast and reaching over 60km inland from the Pacific Ocean.  These vast plains provide food for both local consumption and export by producing animals and crops. Studies We discover the processes that formed these with the aid of  5 large rivers and swift ocean currents.  We can look at the ways human innovation, converted these, once desert lands into highly productive farms and their settlements.
