Interested groups discover the forces and processes behind these wild powerful land-moving events of nature. We can learn how to understand their dangers and ways of protecting ourselves should we ever get caught in a large rapid. Adventure seekers use rafts, boogie boards, kayaks and jet boats to experience the thrilling power of a good rapid. We find rapids in most rivers because of their steep gradients. Each rapid changes with the weather and season. Rapids need to be respected and always treated as a life threatening object. Knowledge and experience help us recognise the rapids we can survive to enjoy. sadly many rapids are lost to hydro power dams all over the workd. |
