Although not immediately obvious there are a number of large lakes in the zone. Lakes here are usually remnants of the last ice age and are now popular for boating, fishing, swimming, camping, and walking. We see these by leaving the main highway. Local lakes are set beautifully among the dense rainforest providing opportunities for some great photos and places to rest.
Studies:
Interested groups look at the ways these lakes were formed and the
processes involved. Social study groups can explore recreational uses
and the flora of these lakes.
