Dominating Christchurch is a huge volcano rising 500 meters above the city. 

It all began deep in the ocean over 12 million years ago and grew into a large island that gradually connected to the mainland. 

We tour over its sides and into the original crater, enjoying the spectacular views of the pacific Ocean, Harbour, Sumner beach Lyttleton Christchurch , the distant snow covered Southern Alps and the colourful alluvial farm plains.
