Different Zones yield different examples of geographical features enabling the widest experience for us all. This zone is part of the large Canterbury Plains formed by river deposits from the Alps and laid into position by ocean coastal currents. The huge volcanic area of the Zone reveals for us several different types of violent eruptions from the past.
