"This is a highly recommended fun activity for all ages and skills." After an exciting chairlift ride high on the mountain top participants arrive at the beginning of the track. The 800 metre down hill path incorporates bumps, tunnels, tight bends and allows for some thrilling speeds to spice the excitement. Each luge has brakes and steering; gravity provides the forward momentum. Racing and overtaking is all part of the challenge as drivers quickly develop their skill and confidence. There is a luge both in the North Island's Active Volcano Zone and the South Island's Adventure & Desert Zone. From each of these there are magnificent scenic views.
